2017-18 Schedule




Keep in mind that adding at least one Dance Conditioning class in addition to their dance class is a great inexpensive way to increase your dancer(s) dance skills, flexibility, and performance skill level.

If you would like to see noticeable results, your dancer(s) should be in class at least 3 days a week.



2018 Summer Dances

Keep your dancer is dance shape or get your dancer prepared for our fall program with a DFL summer program, each class will be filled with wonderful energy and teachings from our qualified DFL staff. All of our dancers will be trained and taught the elements of how to be a performer and will spend their class hours training intensely in movement and dance technique.
Besides learning the art of movement our dancers will enjoy lectures and team-building activities to assist with their grown as a positive person.

African Dance
African dance refers mainly to the dance of Sub-Saharan Africa, and more appropriately African dances because of the many cultural differences in musical and movement styles. These dances must be viewed in close connection with Sub-Saharan African music traditions and Bantu cultivation of rhythm. African dance utilizes the concept of as well as total body articulation
Ballet is a type of performance dance that originated in the Italian Renaissance courts of the 15th century and later developed into a concert dance form in France and Russia. It has since become a widespread, highly technical form of dance with its own vocabulary. It has been globally influential and has defined the foundational techniques used in many other dance genres. Ballet may also refer to a ballet dance work, which consists of the choreography and music for a ballet production. A well-known example of this is The Nutcracker, a two-act ballet that was originally choreographed by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov with a music score by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
Dance Conditioning/Strengthening/Flexibility and Performance
This class will incorporate many exercises that will focus on the core strength, posture awareness, range, control, turnout, foot strengthening, turning, flexibility and performance skills.
Hip Hop
It includes a wide range of styles primarily breaking, locking, and popping which were created in the 1970s and made popular by dance crews in the United States
Hip Hop Fitness
Our Hip Hop Fitness is an amazing high energetic aerobics class created and taught by DFL director Adrianne Allen. This class will consist of a large range of of Hip Hop moves taught with our studio strobe lights flashing and a playlist of 80’s Hip Hop music playing through our surround sound.
Jazz has a broad range of dance styles. This high energy class takes the technique of ballet and puts it into a fast and fun paced movement vocabulary. Students will learn a variety of movements that will work on body isolation’s and coordination as well as strength and flexibility. Moves used In Jazz Dance include Jazz Hands, Kicks, Leaps, Sideways Shuffling, Rolled Shoulders, and Turned Knees.
Lyrical dance is a style of dance created by merging ballet and jazz. The style is usually danced at a faster pace than ballet but not as fast as jazz. Because of the links between the styles of dance, teachers originally struggled with whether to teach lyrical dance alongside jazz or ballet or as its own, separate style. Lyrical dancing is performed to music with lyrics to inspire movements to express strong emotions the choreographer feels from the lyrics in the chosen song.[4] Because lyrical dancing focuses on the expression of strong emotion, the style concentrates more on individual approach and expressiveness than the precision of the dancer’s movements.
Modern Dance is a form of contemporary theatrical and concert dance employing a special technique for developing the use of the entire body in movements expressive of abstract ideas.
Mommy & Me
Our Mommy and Me program is a wonderful program for my future dancers who are not quite old enough for our Pre-k program. We start training the dancers as soon as they are able to walk until the age of two. We have are Mommies involved with the children during the majority of the classes to help with the comfort level of our future dancers. In this class we will be working on; creative movement, dance, group songs and the basic elements of how a dance class is ran.
Tap dance is a form of dance characterized by using the sound of one’s tap shoes hitting the floor as a percussive instrument. Tap allows for a dancers body to become a percussive instrument with the help of tap shoes. It uses jazz music and adds a rhythmic twist. Students will learn the importance of the music’s beat and rhythm in this high energy class as such, it is also commonly considered to be a form of music. Two major variations on tap dance exist: rhythm (Jazz) tap and Broadway tap.
Toddlers in Tutus/Tippy Toe Tappers
These are wonderful programs for Dancers ages 2-5 years of age. Toddlers and Tutus teaches the Dances class structure, creative movement, the benefits of teamwork, as well as the beginning stages of Ballet. Tippy Toe Tappers teaches the Dancers structure, the benefits of teamwork and the beginning stages of tap dancing.
Tumbling dance is a style of dance that combines classical dance technique with precision acrobatic elements. It is defined by its athletic character, its unique choreography, which seamlessly blends dance and acrobatics, and its use of acrobatics in a dance context. It is a popular dance style in amateur competitive dance as well as in professional dance theater and in contemporary circus productions such as those by Cirque du Soleil.
